Mather Hospital, together with Dr. Arif Ahmad, as Medical Director of the Bariatric COE Program, have continuously maintained the designation as a Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery™ by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), since 2007. In March 2016, Mather Hospital and Dr. Arif Ahmad were the first in New York State to achieve a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery TM. Dr. Ahmad is a board-certified surgeon and Fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery, as well as, bariatric surgery.
